Detailer and Edit menus#

Detailer and 🎨 Edit are the two option menus you reach from a result card. Detailer cleans up or enlarges the image you already have. Edit re-draws it with an editing model. Both are private to you and both time out after 300 seconds (5 minutes).

✨ The Detailer menu#

A purple panel headed Detailer. Nothing runs until you press Run ▶️, and the menu deletes itself when you do, leaving just the queue card.

Image select#

Only appears when the job produced a batch. A Choose which image to detail... dropdown listing Image 1 through Image 9.

Detail Fixes#

Four toggle buttons in one row. Each is green when on, grey when off, and you can turn on as many as you like.

Toggle Emoji What it re-draws
Person 🧍 The whole detected figure
Face 😊 Detected faces
Eyes 👁️ Detected eyes
Hands 🖐️ Detected hands

Hi-Res Fix#

A section showing its current state, for example 🟢 refine | 1.5x | denoise 0.35 or ⚫ off, with a Toggle button that turns green when enabled. Switching it on reveals these controls:

Control What it sets
🎨 Model: {name or Inherit} Opens a model sub-view. Green once you pick something other than inherit.
Sampler dropdown First option is Inherit from parent job, then up to 24 samplers read live from ComfyUI
Scheduler dropdown Same shape: Inherit from parent job, then up to 24 live schedulers
Upscaler dropdown Every configured upscaler. Default is 4x-AnimeSharp.pth.
⚙ denoise 0.35 · 1.5x Opens the Hi-Res Fix Settings modal. Green once any value is off-default.
✏ Prompt: … Opens the Hi-Res Fix Prompt modal. Green once the prompt is non-empty.

The model sub-view is a purple screen headed Hi-Res Model showing the current choice. It uses the standard family-grouped model picker with a leading Inherit from parent job option, plus a Back ◀ button that returns you to the detailer menu with your other selections intact.

Hi-Res Fix modals#

Modal Fields
Hi-Res Fix Settings Denoise (0.1 - 0.7), default 0.35 · Upscale Factor (1.25 - 2.0), default 1.5 · Steps (1 - 50, empty = inherit from parent) · CFG (0.5 - 20.0, empty = inherit from parent) · Style: refine or usdu. Every field is optional; leaving one blank keeps the default or inherits from the parent job. Values outside the ranges are clamped.
Hi-Res Fix Prompt One paragraph field, Prompt (used for KSampler conditioning), up to 1000 characters, pre-filled with the parent job's prompt. Leave it empty for no conditioning.

The Style field decides how the pass runs: refine (also written single-pass) does one clean re-sample, while usdu, tiled or tile switches to Ultimate SD Upscale, which works in tiles and uses a lower default denoise of 0.2. Anything else falls back to refine.

Background Removal#

One dropdown, Background Removal (optional). This section is always available, even at high upgrade levels.

Option Best for
None Leave the background alone
🎨 ToonOut (Anime) Anime and illustration
🌟 InSPyReNet Fast, accurate
⚖️ BiRefNet General Balanced
🔬 BiRefNet HR High resolution sources
RMBG 2.0 High quality

Running it#

A status line above the buttons summarises what you picked, for example Selected: face, hands + hires 1.5x + bg removal. Then:

  • Run ▶️ (green) queues the job. With nothing selected you get "Please select at least one option."
  • Cancel ✖️ replaces the menu with "Detailer cancelled."

The result keeps the parent job's prompt, negative prompt, model and upgrade level, and a public result replies to the message you clicked ✨ on. Nano and GPT source jobs are the exception: their model name is not a real ComfyUI checkpoint, so the configured default checkpoint is substituted.

Warning

Detail Fixes and Hi-Res Fix are hidden entirely at 4x and above (upgrade level 2 or higher). Re-sampling an image that large runs the one GPU Eimi has out of memory. Only Background Removal remains on the menu. If you want detail work on a big image, do it first and upgrade afterwards.

Tip

Pressing 🔄 Re-roll on a detailer result does not blindly re-run it. It re-opens this same menu, pointed at the parent job, so you can change which fixes to apply.

🎨 The Edit button#

🎨 opens a teal panel headed Edit Image. It is reactive: at first you see only the model dropdown (plus an image dropdown when the job produced a batch). Pick a model and the options for that model appear, along with a summary line and the submit row.

Choosing a model#

The Choose editing model... dropdown offers 13 models: Klein, Qwen Edit, Krea 2 Edit, Mage Flow Edit, four Nano Banana variants, four GPT Image variants, and Z-Image Inpaint. Your default comes from the edit_model value in your /settings, so the model you use most is already selected.

Info

Nano and GPT models are VIP only. If you are not VIP or admin they are hidden from the dropdown entirely, leaving the five open models.

The full model table -- what each one is good at, its step counts and its quality tiers -- lives on /edit. The 14th entry, Restyle, is not offered from this button; it has its own entry point.

Model-specific options#

Which controls appear depends on the model you picked:

Model Controls
Klein A row of Fast / Quality / 4B / 9B buttons (blurple when active) plus Batch: n
Qwen Edit Fast (8 steps) / Quality (40 steps)
Krea 2 A Quality / Speed... dropdown: Fast (10 steps) or Quality (20 steps)
Mage Flow A Quality / Speed... dropdown: Fast (4 steps) or Quality (20 steps)
GPT variants A Quality / Speed... dropdown: Auto, Low, Medium, High
Z-Image Inpaint A Quality / Speed... dropdown: Low Denoise (20%), Medium Denoise (40%), High Denoise (70%), or Custom

On top of that:

  • A Resolution dropdown for Nano Banana 2 (0.5K/1K/2K/4K), Nano Banana Pro (1K/2K/4K) and GPT Image 2.0 (1K/2K/4K).
  • An Aspect Ratio dropdown offering Auto (match input image), 1:1, 3:4, 4:3, 2:3, 3:2, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. Nano Banana 2 additionally gets 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1. Hidden for Krea 2, Mage Flow and Z-Image.
  • A Batch size dropdown (1 to 4) for the Nano and GPT families.
  • A Google Search: On/Off 🔍 and Thinking: Minimal/High 🧠 row, for Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro only.

A summary line collects it all, for example Model: Klein · Quality: 4b_fast · AR: 16:9 · Batch: 2.

Submitting#

Edit Prompt ✏️ (blurple) opens a prompt modal titled Edit with {model}, with one paragraph field of up to 2000 characters. Cancel removes the menu.

Z-Image Inpaint gets its own modal, Z-Image Inpaint Edit, because it masks the region automatically before editing:

Field Required Notes
What to target (for masking) Yes Up to 200 chars. What to mask, for example "face", "hands", "the sword"
Edit prompt (what it should become) Yes Up to 2000 chars
Custom denoise (1-100) Yes, when quality is Custom Only shown for the Custom quality option

After 300 seconds without a submit the menu becomes "⏱️ Selection timed out."

What carries over#

An edit is a new job that inherits the parent's aspect ratio (your override first, then the parent's, then auto-detected from its dimensions), and always uses a random seed. Your own /settings supply the output format preferences. The Details panel still shows the parent's character detection and enhancement history, so provenance is not lost through the chain.

Editing is open to anyone with bot access. The original is untouched and the new image is attributed to you.
